Birds are delicate and are smart creatures that totally depend on their owners to treat them well. People who own birds really love their pets but fail to realize that they commit little errors that may influence the health, behavior and emotional state of a bird. Birds conceal pain and illness, unlike cats or dogs, and, therefore, such mistakes are more difficult to observe. Whether it is eating or placing a cage or just interacting with your bird on a daily basis, there are simple habits that support or damage your bird in the long run. 

Keeping the Cage Too Small

A little cage restricts movement and leads to stress. . The consequence of long-term confinement is physical and emotional issues.

Feeding Only Seeds

A fully vegetarian diet is deficient in nutrients. To be healthy, birds require fruits, vegetables, pellets and diversity. Unhealthy food may destroy the immune-system and reduce longevity.

Failure to Provide Adequate Mental Stimulation.

Birds are very smart creatures and they are easily bored. They can develop stress behaviors without their interaction and without toys. Feather pecking or aggression are common causes of mental boredom.

Ignoring Regular Vet Visits

Most of the owners do not take them to vets unless the bird feels unwell. Birds conceal illness that is why frequent health checkups are necessary. One can save the life of a bird through early observation.

Locating the Cage in a Bar noisy or Isolated Area.

Excessive noise will result in anxiety, whereas isolation will result in loneliness. Birds have to have a balance, quiet time and socialization. Bad position has an influence on mood and behavior.

Non-Stick Cookware with Birds.

The fumes emitted by non- stick pans are fatal to the birds. A brief exposure is sufficient to result in severe breathing problems. This is among the most risky latent dangers.

Lack of Daily Interaction

Birds cannot be satisfied with food and water only. They are neglected without everyday communication. Birds may experience emotional loneliness that causes depression.

Improper Cleaning Habits

Bacteria are formed due to infrequent cleaning. Contaminated cages are dangerous to the development of a disease. Birds need to be in clean environments.

Forcing Physical Contact

Some birds do not like to be touched at all times. Compelling handling may destroy trust. Boundaries are appreciated to establish a better relationship.

Disregard of Behavioral Changes.

And warning signs are sudden silence, aggression or loss of feathers. Problems may be made more serious by ignoring them.
